All over the world the best music festivals are celebrated and enjoyed. If you’re planning on taking a trip at some point, it might be handy to know where to go and when you should plan on going there.
1. Coachella
California, USA (Late April)
It runs for three days and usually sells 50,000 tickets per day. With amazing organisation, it provides for all a camper needs: a shower, and of course, great music.
2. All Tomorrow’s Parties
Somerset, UK (May)
This festival provides a chance to share sleeping accommodations with the artists, intimate venues and its fun. Idealism at its best!
3. Primavera Sound Festival
Barcelona, Spain (May – June)
It’s a three day festival by the sea. With a fantastic line-up every time – if you see a new band here, they’re likely to make it big later somewhere down the line.
4. InMusic Festival
Zagreb, Croatia (Late June)
This is a relatively young festival, but shows great promise. It’s held on an Island in the middle of Lake Jarun.
5. Roskilde Festival
Roskilde, Denmark (June – July)
This festival has been going strong since 1971 and it was started by two high school boys.
6. Splendour in the Grass
New South Wales, Australia (July – August)
The tickets to this festival sell out within hours. It’s a two day festival and having a friend in Australia to buy your ticket is definitely the way to go.
7. Summer Sonic
Chiba and Osaka, Japan (Early August)
This festival showcases great bands and is lots of fun for the rock, punk, and hip-hop fans. There are other genres to enjoy as well.
8. Sonnemondsterne
Saalburg, Germany (Early August)
This is for the electronic fan. Here you will get to see the most celebrated DJ’s and performers who fall into the electronic community.
9. Independance Rock
Mumbai, India (Mid-August)
This one’s for those guitar freaks out there. It showcases technical proficiency to make you melt. It’s being called the Woodstock of India.
10. Quilmes Rock/Pepsi Music Festival
Buenos Aires, Argentina (April/October – November)
It’s hard to choose between the two, so go to both! They both have awesome bands and great line-ups.
